TRADING THE OCTAGON FOR THE SQUARED CIRCLE
Big fan of the heavy-weight Frank Mir since he first stepped into the octagon at UFC 34 to take on Robert Traven. He earned his black belt under Ricardo Pires. Won several tournaments like Pan American championship, Naga absolute, he was also Nevada State wrestling champion. Fought for the vacant UFC heavyweight title in UFC 48 against non-other than Tim Sylvia.
Steve Cunningham answers the call on short notice like a true champ and has credentials to the sport. He has 29 wins 9 losses with 13 knockouts to his name. He is the former IBF cruiserweight champion and USBA heavyweight champion.

WHAT TO EXPECT
What is happening here? We have 2 legends past their prime and they are preparing to have a boxing fight. Watching Mike Tyson was one thing because he has always been unpredictable and we all wondered at his age which Mike Tyson would show up to fight.
I was predicting Frank Mir knocking out Antonio Tarver in the second round but with Steve Cunningham stepping in it's another story. He looks like he's kept himself in great shape. He opened up his gym, USS Fight Academy in Pittsburgh. He has a 3-inch reach advantage and a legitimate heavyweight with knockout power. Steve is going to use his ring generalship to punish Mir and eventually end the fight with a body shot. Mir has to cut the ring off and pressure Steve, make him carry his weight. Mir has to unload combinations once he has him on the ropes. It's going to be entertaining for sure. The MMA God's rest on Frank Mir's shoulders.
