THE LAST EMPEROR RETURNS: FEDOR EMELIANENKO

HISTORY
For those who don’t know who Fedor Emilionenko is let’s go back to 2002 when he first entered the Pride organization in Japan. He entered the pride organization with a 6 fight winning streak in Rings organization in Russia. He had several Sambo tournaments under his belt. Fedor was looking to establish himself as a force to be reckon with in the heavy weight division. The MMA world had no idea Fedor was about to embark in one of the most illustrious MMA runs in history.

Fedor went on a 20 fight winning streak that spanned seven years, and 3 organizations. He fought in Pride, Affliction and Strikeforce promotions. He had a few losses after that to Fabrício Werdum in 2010, Antonio Silva and Dan Henderson under the Strikeforce umbrella in 2011. Zuffa had attained Strikeforce promotion that same year and decide Fedor would be let go. Bastards!


BELLATOR PROMOTIONS

Fedor regained his momentum to go on a 5 fight winning streak that brought him to Bellator promotions in 2016. The MMA world was excited to see the last emperor step into USA soil and compete once again! He made the right choice with Bellator. Fedor has 3 wins and 2 losses under the Bellator organization.

We had a chance to attend Bellator 180 to see Fedor compete at MSG in NYC and it was an exciting moment to know the last emperor was competing. There was an aurora for MMA fans that a true legend was amongst us. Everyone came out to see Fedor Emilionenko. 

THE RETURN
Scott Cocker, president of Bellator shakes up the MMA world by announcing the return of the last emperor this Friday June 25th, 2021 at a press conference. Fedor Emilionenko is scheduled to compete in Moscow, Russia on Saturday October 23, 2021. Goose bumps
