ALEX "THE GREAT" vs BRIAN "T-CITY" FOR THE TITLE!

FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE ON THE LINE

We have our recent featherweight champion Alex “the Great” Volkanovski who has been on a 9 fight win streak since 2016. The most notable wins are over Max Holloway, Jose Aldo, and Chad Mendez. The challenger is none other than Brian “T-City” Ortega, who has 8 wins and 1 loss since he entered the UFC.

STYLES MAKES FIGHTS
Our champion Alexander comes in with relentless pressure from the center of the ring. Alex has stood toe to toe with the best this includes Aldo and Max. He poses a good follow-up leg kick that T-City needs to pay attention to. He has adjusted his game since the Aldo fight to be more of a complete fighter. We have a great challenger in Brian, a submission artist. His loss against Max Holloway was a growing experience for “T-city”. He had to improve his striking/defensive skills. It was most evident against “The Korean Zombie”, T-City was elusive and agile with his strikes.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Alexander will bring his signature pressure and follow-up leg kick that has brought him to championship status. Alexander does have to be cautious of Brian’s jiujitsu background and minimize the fight on the ground. Alex needs to cut the distance off the bell and pressure, Brian, onto the cage. Brian must leave everything in the octagon. Alexander knows enough to win decisions from the judges and “T-city” shouldn’t leave it up to the judges. Brian has to control the pressure for the first round and weather the storm. Brian can use his newfound striking agility to impose himself on the champ. If Alexander attempts to clinch Brian can reverse the clinch and attempt a guillotine.

WIN OR LOSE
What an exciting fight between these 2 accomplished fighters who have earned their way to championship status. These are the type of fights we need and have the expectation of being a great fight.
